Cailín na nÓg (Underage girls section) - Expressions of Interest welcome
Dear Members,
Kilcock GAA is about to begin a really positive new chapter for our girls’ games, and we are now inviting Expressions of Interest from members and from parents of juvenile girls who would like to be part of that journey.
We are in the process of setting up Cailín na nÓg, a new committee that will bring together Ladies Football and Camogie at underage level under one shared and co-ordinated approach. The focus of this committee will be on planning, resourcing and decision-making that supports the best possible experience for our young players.
The purpose of Cailín na nÓg is straightforward, but important:
· to promote fairness and equality across both codes;
· to improve coordination in coaching and player development;
· to ensure equal opportunities for girls at every age;
· and to support long-term participation, particularly through the teenage years.
Representation on the Club Executive will also ensure that girls’ games continue to be consistently prioritised as part of Kilcock GAA’s future direction.
We are particularly encouraging parents who are not currently officers of the Camogie or Ladies Football sections to consider getting involved. This is a genuine opportunity to help shape something new and meaningful, and to be part of an important step for the club, as Kilcock GAA moves towards formally bringing its Camogie and Ladies Football sections together at juvenile level — with the shared aim of supporting girls to play, enjoy and stay involved in both games.
If you are interested in getting involved, or would simply like to find out a little more, please contact Myra directly by emailing myra.mcglynn@outlook.ie
Closing date: 5.00pm on Thursday, 22 January 2026
Your time, perspective and support could make a real difference for the next generation of Kilcock girls. We would be delighted to hear from you.
